Sisters of Battle: 30 September 2018

The silver is finished, the gold is painted, and it and the flesh are shaded, and a start has been made on the unhelmeted Sisters' hair.

Sisters of Battle: 28 September 2018

I was fed up with painting silver (and didn't have much time) so I painted the flesh on the unhelmeted Sisters.

USAF Museum: 27 September 2018

This is not a model - it's the real thing. I didn't make it; I went to the USAF museum in Ohio and saw many such marvelous flying machines (this is the Bockscar which dropped the second nuclear bomb on Japan). Not hobby, but fun!

Battle Churches: 22 & 23 September 2018

Two of the Miniature Scenery Battle Churches, both somewhat converted, one each day. I modified the dorsal plate of the first one to move the turret ring to the front and center (so it can function as an Immolator - the turret is on order from Wargames Exclusive).

The second is heavily blinged out with lots of icons and fleurs-de-lys etc. This will probably be a command tank, or just a very fancy one!

RPG: 21 September 2018

The erstwhile heroes fought Coatl the Finger of the Hand of the Dragon and managed to defeat him, but at the cost of the lives of 30 Imperial Fists and Candor the . . . well, they never really worked out what she was.

Moldmaking: 20 September 2018

My casting kit arrived and so I mixed up some silicone and poured some molds. As to what I am casting . . . I plead the fifth!

Sisters of Battle: 17 September 2018

My Sisters force needs more infantry (and I want to paint these metal models before the plastic ones come out!) so I cleaned up some I bought from eBay, glued them up and put some texture on the bases ready for undercoat.

Sororitas Motorpool: 16 September 2018

I put the turrets on the Immolators; one was the standard turret and another had already had the nozzles cut off (to be made into multi-melta turret) - I replaced the removed nozzles with some heavy bolter barrels. For the final turret, I used an infantry model and a heavy weapon from Anvil Industries to make something new and different!

Sororitas Motorpool: 13 to 15 September 2018

I had some Sisters of Battle vehicles I got from eBay - they had been badly assembled with superglue, painted with what looked like latex housepaint, and then seemingly tumbled with rocks. I'd repaired a few of them, and I finished off another with help from the bits box (full disclosure; there were some days when I didn't do anything because I was very busy at work). I then gave the motor pool a quick prime with black.

Imperial Cathedral: 10 to 12 September 2018

I spent a few days working on the top of the lantern, replacing the large skull. I made a design heavily inspired by the Adeptus Mechanicus symbol (quite deliberately, because the cult of the Crystal Lady is connected with the Cult Mechanicus). The cybernetic eye will be a tall radio mast or antenna.

Imperial Cathedral: 6 to 9 September 2018

I did not have much time over the last few days, but I was able to make these balconies on the circular roof areas.

Imperial Cathedral: 5 August 2018

I glued the lower walls of the lantern on to the pitched roof and then, when the epoxy and Milliput was dry, cut out the part of the roof inside the circle. Well, I say "circle" but I managed to put it on a little compressed . . . there is a couple of mm difference in one diameter compared to the other. I shall have to cheat this using some sort of cunning technique!

Imperial Cathedral: 4 August 2018

I actually did some of this yesterday, but didn't take pictures of it. I cut pieces of PVC molding and applied them to the ribs of the vaulting, given them some dimension. I then used epoxy and Milliput to attach the roof to the plastic strips I'd made earlier (protecting the layer below them with tape). After letting it dry (I am updating this blog post the next day) I was able to remove the roof without too much difficulty and fit it to the sockets fairly easily. I think I will widen the holes a little and cut down the pins slightly, but the general idea works!

Imperial Cathedral & Background: 3 September 2018

You've seen the images before, but I got around to posting them on my other blog together with the first part of her history. I also did some work on the Cathedral, but didn't get as far as I wanted and so am waiting to post pictures!

Imperial Cathedral: 2 September 2018

Worked on some little plastic strips (the white ones in the lower picture) to which the roof will attach. These secure in place with pins fitting into sockets drilled into the gray cones, but I may have to replace them with magnets or drill the holes out wider so they can be fitted in place easier.

Imperial Cathedral: 1 September 2018

Using practical geometry (I have pictures of the process and will post them on my other blog) I cunningly cut a piece of PVC pipe so it fitted over the roofline with an acceptable level of tightness. Huzzah!
