Didn't take any WIP pictures, but I spent a while painting the Spartan - also spent some time messing about with ChatGPT to explore background ideas, but the painting is probably more impressive.

April 19th 2023: Spartan assembly complete

I thought about a commander, but I just couldn't be bothered ... so a little pintle-mounted combi-weapon it is and she is ready for paint!

Everything but the cupola / commander is finished now - ready for paint in sub-assemblies. Including some 3d printed icons!

Cheap on eBay, bought it on a whim... and it's such a beautiful model. Just clean and elegant and everything. Put most of it together tonight.

Finished this model off. Currently at -1 for Spring golf!

April 13th & 14th 2023: 3d Printed Lion

Rescaled, supported, and 3d printed this model over a couple of days. The lines are fairly obvious depending on the lighting - I've cleaned some of them up, and will give it a coat of gesso before priming it. My 3d printer does not seem to be working as well as it once did - I suspect the build plate has become cupped and worn and pieces at the outer edges are not sticking as well. But, I got this printed and I think it will work fine.

April 12th 2023: Winter Lion test model

A test model for the Winter Lions - rattlecan prime black, two layer rattlecan zenithal of gold and gunmetal, cover with Warp Lightning (shoulder pad is Blood Angels Red). Head is separately gold and washed with Soft Tone.

Quick, and really quite nice!
