October Roundup!

 Well, how did I do?

I did something every day, I participated in the challenge of #dreadtober, and I used a new technique - a variation on the thing that is taking the internet by storm; SLAP CHOP (I am calling mine "Shamwow").

I think I bought some models...

October 30th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Getting towards the end of the time allotted ... and there is a lot to do! Base is complete (complete with flowers), pilot is painted, and the body of the carapace is done. Left to do are some details on the pilot compartment, the drones, the towers, some details on the torso, and the weapons.

Only a single picture but I did work each day on the castle on the rear of the Knight.

Started work on the pilot, using the variation of the SLAP CHOP method I have developed which I am calling SHAM WOW.

I started work on painting the Sacristans, using a variation of the slap chop method. Undercoat white, wash with woodstain, drybrush white.

October 19th 2022: Gui de Lusignan character profile

I did not manage to get a lot of work done on the model (I think I did glue on some pieces, but very little really) because I had a long shift at work but I did manage to do some work on the background for the pilot of "Hagia Sophia" the Knight-Titan, Gui de Lusignan.

October 17th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

More work on the cathedral and the platforms for the sacristans to stand on ... and the sacristans themselves were converted!

October 11th to 14th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Not much opportunity to do any work these few days - actual work demanded 12 hour shifts and I've been recovering from a cold. But, I managed to do a bit each night and I got a lot of the black edging done for these pauldrons.

October 9th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Some conversion work on the shoulder pads. These originally had a winged fleur-de-lys, which is sort of a combination of the designs on the Sororitas pauldrons. I trimmed some details off and scratch-built an Imperial ][ design.

October 8th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" the Knight-Titan

Work continued with attaching anchor points to the carapace and mocking up a design of how it is going to look, and getting some bright colors on the minaret dome drones! There will be a cathedral built on the rear of the carapace, with the pilot visible within a glass cage.

October 7th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" the Knight-Titan

The chest and head armor is completed - full disclosure! The unique Sister of Battle faceplate I had with the rest of the Legio Models kit was flushed down the sink when I washed it! So, I used a regular one ... which I thinks works better with the backstory of the Hagia Sophia.

October 6th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Not a lot of painting - some reds and silvers on the drones - but mostly some planning and assembly of the carapace details.

October 5th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Made a small conversion to the model's knee to show the narrative of Sapientia's knee being damaged at the Battle of Ha'tin, and glued on all the armor for her lower half.

October 4th 2022: "Hagia Sophia" Knight-Titan

Lined the armor plates and washed them with gray Contrast, to give the look of leading in stained glass, and glued the armor in place.

October 1st 2022: "Hagia Sophia" the Knight-Titan

Inspired by the October challenge of #Dreadtober (a thing with legs on a larger base) I grabbed the components for the Hagia Sophia Knight-Titan and started work. Today, some rattle-can undercoats, a few details picked out, and a series of grimy washes!
