So, how did we do in April? Well, I did something every day (First success!) I participated in the #ArmorInApril challenge (Second success!) I tried a new thing; panel lining (Third success!)
Alas! I bought new models! I bought a Start Collecting Slaves To Darkness kit (to use as the Brotherhood of the Wolf for Outremer) - justifying it to myself because the price was limited edition - and some Les Grognards (to use as the armies of Les Trois Villes for Outremer) - justifying it to myself because i) they have been in and out of stock and ii) there was a price break on them, too.
So, probably a violation of the spirit if not (necessarily) the letter of the rule.
In terms of models completed; I did three tanks (even though the White Knight is pretty much complete, I bought it this year and didn't count it as a model bought then so . . .). I bought 16 Chaos Warriors and 36 Les Grognards, and was gifted a model. One of Les Grognards also got destroyed. That is a net of negative 49 models and puts me at 41 models painted gross and negative 13 models net!
Not ideal, not where I wanted to be - the goal was to finish the year with less models than I started with!
And so that is going to be the focus for May. The challenge is #MudfootsInMay (infantry) and I am going to try to paint this whole platoon of Les Grognards. It's 35 models, so that will not only put me back in the black but also rectify the purchasing of the figures! And the new thing I will try is zenithal priming.
