A note for February!

February was a short month . . . and really difficult for the hobby. Work was hell and there were many days when I couldn't get much done at all. I was down, tired, spiritually drained . . .

Close Combat Celestians: 23 to 26 February 2020

I'm sure there were a couple of days in here when I did absolutely nothing, but work has been awful the last couple of weeks. Barely any time to do anything. Still, I worked on these girls!

Bombalurina & Close Combat Celestian: 21 and 22 February 2020

I started painting Bombalurina on Friday, but didn't get any pics (I've been really tired from stuff at work) and carried on painting her on Saturday in between working and taking care of a sick wife! The diamonds were giving me fits, so I decided a change was as good as a rest and assembled the first of the close-combat Celestians. The swords are 3d printed from Shapeways and the shields are Custodians'. I like the combination of the relatively short sword and the very large shield - it makes them look very defensive, which is appropriate.

RPG & Character Model Making: 19 & 20 February 2020

On the 19th, we started the new game - in which I get to play a character! Zahra "Bombalurina" Kitaen the catfolk rogue devoted to the Goddess of Love just trying to make her way in a cruel world.

A good game, fun group of people, and it was nice to play again rather than running the game.

On the 20th, I took a model a friend had bought for me and made a few conversions to her in order to better represent Bombalurina.

Roof!: 18 February 2020

Not scenery, but a 1:1 scale model :) As we did a few nights ago, we met with a nice salesman from a roofing company but this time we bought the roof. So, no hobby tonight :(

No, the legs don't go together like that - I just balanced them there. I used Contrast paint on the knee-faces and they look quite nice.

RPG Design: 12 February 2020

No gaming tonight, but a very helpful talk with my RPG group to help a fellow player (and soon to be GM!) with the design of his homebrew system. We should be playing this on Wednesday nights and alternating with my game - giving me some time off!

Roof Presentation: 11 February

A nice man came around and tried to sell me a roof - foolish man, I have no money for your expensive roof; I need to buy models. But, in all honestly, it was a very nice roof (a fancy metal one) but it was very expensive. We did not buy it. Nor, because I was listening to the nice man's pitch, did I get any hobby done.

I assembled Junith's pulpit, and modified the model with magnets so it could be combined with others.

Penitent Engines: 1 February 2020

I slapped these models together, even taking a moment to do some semi-scenic bases. One of them is from the starter box, but the other two are new (they are the same design, so go together well). I equipped them as Penitent Engines with flamers, and gave them saws with the flails attached to the sides so I can run them as either (or one of each, which looks to be the better option).
