Eschers: 30 April 2018

Managed to squeeze this girl out in the early morning, which was good because I didn't get any hobby time in the evening! Finished the base colors and then gave her the wash.

Eschers: 29 April 2018

I did more than just this (more painting on the Eschers! Black and cream finished! Silver started!) but this is the demonstration of the next stage; a wash with Flesh Wash and Strong Tone (basically Devlan Mud / Agrax Earthshade) from Army Painter. It gives the great grimy, post-apocalyptic look I was going for. Just details now!

(Well, and the basic colors on ten other models . . .)

Necrons: 27 April 2018

I finished assembling the Immortals. The seams on the shoulders were fairly obvious so, rather than fill them, I used a thin piece of plastic rod to cover them and add some detail.

Necrons: 26 April 2018

I did a test assembly for the Deathmarks / Immortals from Forgebane (combining the two versions to get some variation) and did a test paint scheme for the four-armed Not-crons I built earlier (spray silver, paint in gold and bone, wash with woodstain).

Armiger Warglaive: 25 April 2018

Some assembly on the other Armiger Warglaive, this time with a 15mm-scale "mauler claw" from Dreamforge games; as can be seen, the 15mm scale Leviathan weapons are a good scale fit for the Armigers.

Eschers: 24 April 2018

There are so many colors on these models and it seems to be taking forever. Still, I painted some of the very dark gray on them.

Eschers, Necrons, Goliaths: 23 April 2018

A mishmash of work tonight; finished the orange and started the very-dark-gray on the Eschers, assembled some Goliaths with Necron weapons, and primed some of the Necron models black and then sprayed them silver. Picture of an example, not the complete work done :)

Necromunda Scenery & Armiger Warglaive: 21 April 2018

Sprayed some Necromunda bulkheads (primed in oxide red and then sprayed from below with silver, to leave the red as rust in the recesses) and assembled an Armiger from Forgebane. It is converted with an assault cannon from the new Primaris Dreadnought (because I wanted to use the thermal-lances for my Sisters of Battle Thunderhawk).

Eschers: 18 April 2018

The painting on the Eschers continues - more colors going down! I took delivery of some different colors today - a purple and a lilac, and so I made use of those.

Eschers: 17 April 2018

More colors on the Eschers - I get a lot of the green down, and I start work on the orange (which is very close to the red, but hey.)

Necromunda Bulkheads: 16 April 2018

A busy day today; not enough time to really paint anything. So, I trimmed and glued together the Necromunda bulkheads. Painting them will be really easy - spray silver and a wash! I just need to get some spraypaint.

Eschers & Goliaths: 15 April 2018

A little bit of painting on the Eschers, and some assembly on the Goliaths. As the Eschers are Mechanicus-inspired, so are the Goliaths a bit Necrony.

Eschers: 14 April 2018

Red completed, starting on the yellow (and an experiment with a green to see if the Flesh Wash will shade it - it will!)

Eschers: 12 April 2018

Sprayed these girls white, painted the based silver and washed the whole model with a dark wood stain; an experimental technique. I plan to use translucent paints over this pre-shading and then shade the whole model with a reddish brown (Flesh) wash. It remains to be seen if this will work . . .

Eschers: 11 April 2018

I'd had most of this assembly done already, but I finished them off - a gang of Eschers for Necromunda assembled pretty much according to the instructions but with a few conversions. There is a girl with pigtails, a comically-big revolver and a ridiculous hammer who will be called "Harley" and a number of them are wielding Mechanicus weapons. These are the Ladies of Coatlaxopeuh, followers of Verity on the far-flung Hive World (but the reason is justified in the background!)

Immolator: 10 April 2018

An old-school Immolator rescued from the green bath. It was in a bad state - the paint didn't want to come off the plastic, and the thing had been assembled with superglue. I had to replace a number of pieces, but that did create a rather cool "gothic" look to it.

Retributors: 9 April 2018

I finished off the nine unique Retributors I started yesterday. Easy enough conversion; the tricky part is grinding off the bolter magazine and building new bolter magazines on the backpack - but a rotary tool and the bits-box made that pretty easy.

Retributors: 8 April 2018

From the pile of shiny scrubbed Sisters comes enough pieces to make many Retributors. I started a conversion project I wanted to do since I first saw the models - swap the weapons and backpacks around so there are nine different ones. It is easy enough to do as they are all based on the same template.

Scrubbing Sisters: 7 April 2018

A day not of painting, but of removing paint! Many Sisters of Battle (from an eBay purchase) freed from the emerald prison of Simple Green and scrubbed shiny bright!

"Necrons": 6 April 2018

The Not-crons are finally finished! I can now move on to something else (which is not painting them, because I need black and silver spray to do it!)

"Necrons": 4 April 2018

More work on the things that aren't Necrons but are - these are surprisingly fiddly to do (it is the making them four-armed that is difficult).

Thunderhawk: 2 April 2018

I'd been holding off on doing more work on the Thunderhawk because I needed some components I'd ordered off eBay, and they were taking a while to arrive. I found them on the doormat yesterday evening, and so swept the bikes off the desk and dragged the T'hawk back out! A few hours work and the main structure of the cockpit is complete.

Sisters of Battle Bikes: 1 April 2018

Full disclosure here; I all I did on these today was take them out of the box and glue the melta gun onto the detached hand . . . I'd done all the other work before.
